kotiya is a short piece for four players, written in one week. The title refers to a subspecies of leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya) native to Sri Lanka. 

The piece is a response to the dense, suffocating humidity of the island’s lowland rainforests. The music is often opaque and uncomfortable, choked by the jungle.
