
ABOUT
Xan Gill (b.1996) is a composer and producer from the North East of England, now working in London.
His upcoming engagements include chamber pieces with Huw Watkins, Mark Simpson, Zoë Martlew and the newly formed Hermes Trio (Karen Jones, Hugh Webb and Paul Silverthorne), as well as work for the Royal Academy of Music Sound & Vision festival in February 2020. Most recently his orchestral piece One Pure Thought was workshopped and recorded by RAMSO.
He is currently studying for an MA in Composition at the Royal Academy of Music under PHILIP CASHIAN and is the grateful recipient of the Charles W Black Fellowship. This year’s highlights included writing for Riot Ensemble and London Metropolitan Brass amongst other mixed ensembles, with tuition from HANS ABRAHAMSEN, GEORG FRIEDRICH HAAS, JOHN WOOLRICH and TANSY DAVIES.
Xan also writes for Northern Dance, a contemporary dance company based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. His ELECTRONIC/DANCE MUSIC has received over 100,000 streams and airplay on BBC Radio.
